John joined the BBX TEAM in 2013 as the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. He comes from a highly reputable Petroleum Engineering Company. John rose thru the ranks serving in the oilfield in many capacities. His previous position was to serve as a Regional HSE/DOT Specialist overseeing HSE and Training duties for personnel in 5 districts within the Texas and Louisiana regions.
John has been a guest motivational speaker in many different venues within the safety society of our industry. John brings a dynamic and impactive, but humble approach to personal safety. Much of this is due to prior experience traveling throughout State and Private Children’s Homes for 5 years as a motivational speaker for troubled children. John is also a certified vocational instructor thru Texas A&M, Corpus Christi serving as an instructor in adult vocational education for 5 years. With his caring approach and ability to deliver a message with content to an audience, John brings a very passionate and innovative approach to the industry concerning safety. John considers himself a “dirty boots” part of BBX Management, as he loves being in the field working around those that he strives to build a continually growing and innovative safe working environment for. John will be working out of the Livingston and Austin offices managing Health, Safety and Environmental issues, along with development and implementation of personnel training within BBX.
John, along with his wife Debbie enjoys time with their kids and grandson. Being outdoors, especially around water is a passion for them. They enjoy riding motorcycles, boating and gardening. John and Debbie seek out and enjoy donating time in serving less fortunate people, along with charitable organizations. John’s motto is “safety, yours and mine should never be REQUIRED, but instead, safety, yours and mine should always be DESIRED!” John spends each and every day in the Oil and Gas Industry trying to plant that seed and grow it to an industry standard.
